Our owner, Micah, was working as a supervisor for the City of Detroit until the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to rethink her career goals. Determined to find a way to support her family and pursue her love of beading, Micah decided to open Bead It Up Detroit LLC. She started by making waist beads as a natural weight loss tracking method, and her craft quickly expanded to include a wide variety of beaded jewelry and accessories.
